It's an honor to be serving as curator for this biennial and collaborating with such a great team of people at the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute.

The Art and Art Therapy of Papermaking

I’m thrilled to be a contributing author to this new book, to be released in September, about a topic that is near and dear to my heart. Edited by Master Papermaker Drew Luan Matott and Registered Board Certified Art Therapist Gretchen M. Miller, it is a comprehensive collection about the contemporary practices, media, and value of hand papermaking as social engagement, art therapy, and personal voice. Much gratitude and appreciation is extended to Amy Bucciarelli and Genevieve Camp, collaborators/co-authors of Chapter 4: Adaptations and Modifications for Therapeutic Hand Papermaking.

The State of Water Juried Art Exhibition

Cade Museum for Creativity & Invention, featuring original works by artists in North Central Florida and benefiting two non-profits: the Florida Springs Institute & Current Problems. I was delighted to have been awarded First Place with PLUTEUS, a pulp painting inspired by the larva of a marine sea urchin. The delicate form is an illusion captured by misting pigmented pulp through the architecture of the fiber, evoking imaginations of microscopic life in the ocean, the foundation of earth’s food chain.
